I had the honor of completing my Esthetics Oncology Training by Oncology Spa Solutions and owner, Becky Kuehn in September of 2019. This truly is a life-changing esthetics sector that is quite unique and requires extensive study. This training has equipped me to safely, compassionately and confidently care for my clients that are experiencing cancer and the side effects of their treatments.

Why is it so important to have an Oncology Trained Esthetician working on a patient who is receiving active cancer treatments or for those who are our cancer survivor warriors? Oncology Trained Estheticians are specifically taught the proper treatment modifications for skin care treatments in order to safely reduce the skin related side effects of cancer treatment. Even some of the most basic modifications, if not done by a trained professional can have detrimental effects on the client and lead to complications such as Lymphedema or infection. We dive deep into cancer, how it effects our body and our skin and the many different treatment options that range from chemotherapeutic drugs, radiation, surgical intervention, as well as Integrative cancer therapies. We also study how cancer effects our client's mind and emotions. This training also teaches us how to determine proper products and ingredients; the safe, the not so safe and the outright toxic. We received hands-on training with clients that have gone through cancer and learned how to help customize specific treatment plans and offer effective, safe treatments.

As you may already know, I am also an Educator for Color Up, an Oncology Approved, CBD-infused Skin Care Company based out of Denver, Colorado. My training was actually completed in the Color Up Wellness Center and had the privilege of utilizing these incredible, life-changing products during our hands-on training. I currently use these products in my treatment room and have seen this powerful plant medicine at work! It is my honor to partner with Color Up to bring to you, Casalini Cares Day, in conjunction with The Color Up Cares Initiative which intends to bring healing and balance into the lives of those fighting cancer by raising funds for research, meals, wigs and other ancillary items. Once a quarter, Casalini Cares Day will provide FREE Spa Treatments with Color Up Oncology Safe CBD Products! If you or someone you know is currently receiving treatment for cancer, a survivor or care giver, please email casaliniskinandbody@gmail.com for more information and to reserve your appointment. Appointments are limited for each quarter. Our first Casalini Cares Day for 2020 will be Tuesday March 24th. Casalini Cares Day is dedicated to my grandmother, Delores Gall, who lost her battle to small cell carcinoma lung cancer on November 17, 1998.
